LGBTQ+ Youth

CM/A+A fully supports the LGBTQ+ community and the health and safety of its members. Every member of the team at CM/A+A stands with this community and recognizes the unique challenges that LGBTQ+ teenagers face that their peers may not. We all have a fundamental right to live safely and comfortably as ourselves.

Led by the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Board of Governor, Jen Slipakoff, and former member of the HRC Atlanta Steering Committee, Claire Middlebrooks, both advocates for the community, we recognize that it is vital for this group of individuals to find a safe space for discussion and support. Jen has extensive experience working as an advocate and lobbyist on behalf of the community personally, locally, and nationwide. Claire has experience working in LGBTQ+ community engagement and activism, and in a therapeutic supportive role for LGBTQ+ individuals and groups.

Through our LGBTQ+ services we offer education and advocacy on behalf of the teenager to families, schools, peers, and even politicians and communities. We believe it is important for each child to feel respected and a sense of community, therefore offering connections to get involved with the community, obtain resources, and opportunities to have their voices heard and to be involved. Additionally, CM/A+A offers LGBTQ+ exclusive group therapy through East Atlanta Counseling.

We want to hear from your LGBTQ child and how we can be of service to them.
